Contact Tracing FAQs
Q. What is the Contact Tracing number for:
A. Contact tracing and screening is in place at all Edmonton Soccer Association Facilities. When you enter, we need your name, phone number, and email address, and will ask you several screening questions. Providing a your pre-registered tracing number means that you save time in having to confirm all of your information orally, while wearing a mask.
Q. Only my child is playing, not me. Who should I request a tracing number for?
A. Tracing is in effect for everyone entering the facility. Anyone without a tracing number will still need to provide tracing information.
Q. I’ve submitted my request for me and my family. How will I know whose number belongs to whom?
A. When we send out your tracing number, we include the name of the person it is valid for.
Q. I haven’t gotten my number, what is taking so long? Should I resubmit my request?
A. Tracing numbers are assigned manually throughout business days. We are making an effort to ensure that your tracing number is received by the next business day, but due to time constraints, there is definitely a delay in when they are sent out.
If it has been more than 2 business days, it is possible that there was a typo in your email address, and we can’t get your tracing number to you. You can call us at 780-413-4125 ext. 1 to follow up.
Q. I can’t remember my tracing number.
A. Please don’t resubmit the request – this causes a backlog on our administrative request. You can email us (using the "Contact Us" option on the left) or call us, and we will re-send it to you. Please make sure it is stored safely for easy retrieval.
Q. I’m worried that providing my contact information will result in unwanted marketing.
A. Rest assured, we are only using the tracing number for contact tracing. Unwanted marketing without your permission is a PIPA breach.
Q. Why are you using this information?
A. Because there is risk in sport, particularly during COVID-19, we are doing our best to mitigate any potential impact to our users. That being said, if there is a breach or contagion, we want to ensure that we can safely notify people who were affected.
Q. There is no space for my relationship to the player, or the team name, how do I submit this information?
A. For the purposes of contact tracing, this information is not relevant. We are trying to limit this form to only the information required for contact tracing.
Q. When I got my contact tracing number, my name was spelled wrong.
A. When we input your information into our spreadsheet, we are only copying and pasting. Because of the wide varieties of spelling different names, we can’t assume any corrections. For the most part, small typos aren’t a big deal, but if you want to correct anything, please email us using the "Contact Us" option on the left.
